i could turn it 4 turns, then it stuck, screached. afraid of breaking i ran all sorts of oil down the bolt to the threads and cranked it in/out to try to make progress slowly. none!
finally did last what should be first. i found my "kroil" and dribbled some down to the threads.in/out slowly, made progress from the start. it never fully jammed.finally just kept cranking out smooth.
this was bolt 4 for my air cond compressor
AINT NUTTIN LIKE KROIL!

If the answer is no, you probably set it up for failure if you have to ever remove it again.

ahhh, yeah i removed the bolt. thats what i was doing to remove the compressor. ill get a new one and chase it clean.
ill run it in and make sure it dont stick b4 i do the assembly .
cant take any chances. might use antisieze or locktight.
my main point is that kroil worked when 3 different oils didnt.
i said this ;just kept cranking out smooth.

Way better, and much cheaper.
Glad to hear this happened backing out, and not going in. Definitely chase the threads in the receiving hole, and get a new bolt. I wouldn't bother with loctite or anti seize on re-assembly unless specs call for it.

KROIL is some good stuff. However, have you tried a 50/50 mix of acetone/ATF?

i thought acetone would evaporate. idk it very well.
btw, off topic, im working on an outside hood release. it worked on just the dr side first try. still working. if cable breaks this will do it.
ill post if/when i get it.

The acetone does evaporate quickly. However, the capillary action takes the oil where it needs to go. It just plain works.

I just bought all the crap today to start mixing my own. Just wondering if I need to mix up the day I need it or if I can mix up a small batch and leave it sit for awhile.

Been thinking about that also.
One of my worst fears is opening the hood and have the hood release lever in my hand behind my shoulder complete with 2 feet of broken hood release cable.

If you leave he solution stand in the oiler can, approx how long will it take for the acetone to evaporate?
