Default Battery cables

So I'm upgrading to two optima battery's and a 160amp alt. anyone know what size cables I should upgrade to or should I just leave them alone? This is the first time I've done this. I've always just let the stock alt in my vehicles. So any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

Contact John Kelley at that url. Explain what you're doing and he will get you all setup.

I have his 4awg wires and a 136a alternator.

I just ordered Jon's 4awg cable kit for my 136-amp alternator and they work great.

He's in a financial pickle at the moment, so I bought an extra wire from him to help out. Great and knowledgeable guy.

Just note, it typically takes a few weeks for him to get your order shipped out because he makes these himself and has more than one order at a time to handle.

I'll also add my support for kelleyswip (known on the forums as 5-90). Great product.

When you get to him make sure you know the length of wire for the second battery location, including the routing of it. You need more than the 150 amp setup also don't be tempted to skimp there go with he tells you.

Don't even think about installing the upgrades before the wiring the system will not handle the amps. Another nice thing he will send you a photo instruction setup guide, in color even.

This is not cheap but after all its a JEEP (Just Empty Every Pocket) and know your upgrade is done correctly with quality materials the first time. Good luck and have a great time with all your coming upgrades.
