I'm gonna go f*$&ing nuts if I don't get my Jeep back soon!! Front end pinion bearing has been shot for a while and it took me a bit to realize it... and instead of tearing the bastard apart and replacing the bearing, we figure it'll be easier to just replace the whole axle housing... fortunately we found a doner Jeep that had been t-boned with only 90,000 miles on it AND one of the high pinion dana 30 axles (the one on mine is low pinion)... Gotta wait til the engine is out of it first because that's going to someone else.. then the axle's going on mine... blah... I'm stuck driving my band's astro van until the jeep is fixed, someone shoot me!

 

I thought this was going to be about finally getting the AC fixed

 

Well, fortunately the AC works well on my Jeep, isn't doing me any good since I'm not driving the thing til the front end is fixed (it's really bad... terrible noises from slow speeds onward.)

Sadly though, the aircon doesn't work in the Astro van... which is a royal pain in the ***.... The compressor works, and the blower and everything works, but there's a leak somewhere and I can't keep refrigerant in it... So it's good old fashined 2/60 air cooling!

Um, why not just pull out the front drive shaft?

 

Ya know....... I hadn't even thought of that.... I wheel with mine... But if its just til I get the new front end on I guess it wouldn't hurt

Good call... I neutered it yesterday morning. I felt bad! But now it's driveable woo!

 

If you added the word "TAXI" on the sides. It would look just like our cabs here.
