"drifting" and kicking the rear end loose are very different. I think someone already said that drifting is done around 60 mph.
and be as safe as you can when you try this. and post a video.

Drifting started out in the mountains of Japan, not on any race tracks. I'm 100% sure the original drifters didn't say, "unless you are going 60mph or faster, you aren't drifting."
Drifting isn't qualified by speed. Its qualified by style of driving, no matter what speed you are at.
Granted, the sport of drifting we all see on TV and at car shows is judged by speed, but also by technique and finess. But you aren't disqualified if you aren't "around 60 mph."

I agree with you on your first point, however, I don't with your second. Sure, someone said its done around 60, but just because someone said it doesn't mean its true.

Yes, you'll wear out your trans quicker as it'll produce more heat than normal, and it'll most likely eat up your clutches.
Bushings, shocks, ujoints, springs, tires, axles, diffs, anything and everything gets abused. These trucks, and pretty much every other truck on the road, weren't designed for that sort of thing. To have a truck to "drift" with, you'll want to upgrade tons of things.
Sooo, yes. To answer your question in the simplest of ways, YES, it will eat up parts quicker than normal.
