I am new to the jeep world and just turned 16 and just bought my first vehicle.. A 92 cherokee with a 4.0. It currently has a 5 inch lift and 33x12.5 on it just wondering if I could clear 35s when I go to get new tires. P.s has major trimming

Would it be worth it to "upgrade" to 35s?

Well, that all depends on what you plan to do with it.
Where you live, and how far away from your favorite wheeling spot is from your house. Also, what kind of terrain is your favorite wheeling spot?

Rocks, mud, trails, etc., and your plans.

Daily driver?
Weekend warrior?
Dedicated trail rig?
-or-
A little bit of all 3?

There are pros and cons to all of them.

Well said. Another thing I'd like to add is how much time/money you're willing to put into this. When you get to 35s you start maxing out a lot of components and there are many parts that could use an upgrade.

Its more of a daily driver then a trail rig. But I would like to spend under 1200 for tires. What would you recommend? I do a lot of mudding and driving on the beach. Not really any trails.

You need to re gear the jeep to match the 35s or its going to be slow as hell.I would save up and get lockers at the same time its cheaper to do it once then twice. And if you have stock steering it should be upgraded.

i agree, 33s with stock gears was awful, i cant imagine it with 35s plus theres a good chance yopull toast your trans running it that way, id suggest kepping the 33s and investing in a regear to 4.56+ it could easily be done on a 1200$ budget just my .02$

^X3^ To do it right your going to need a lot more than $1200 for sure.

I dunno. I ran 33's with 3.55 gearing on my 2.8L powered rocket turd, it wasn't fast, but it wasn't horrible. When I went to 35's and regeared, my friend bought my 33's and they seem fine with his 4.0L and 3.55 gearing. Definitely regear for 35's though.

I've been running 31s and 3.55s for a couple years and although I've put up with them its definitely slow enough. I would regear with anything bigger if you DD and plan to keep the setup for awhile.
