Good choice, you won't be sorry. And if you want to go a little bigger in tires in the future you will still be good on the gearing.

If you have a shop do it, probably around 1200 -1700 depending on if you have them replace all the bearings and seals or not, what brand of gears you go with, and if you get lockers, that price will go up depending on the lockers you get.

just for the record, i have an 8 inch longarm kit on 36's with stock 3.55 gears. it's not that horrible.
i have 10 inch wide beadlocks with 3.0 inch backspace to widen my track.

with the bumpers/winch/rear tire swing, i probably lost an inch and a half of lift, but it wheels fine and even drives down the highway ok.

i run with no bumpstops, i just cut if i rub. there's not much front fender left, but it stuffs the 36's just fine.

bumpstops are a critical part of every well performing suspension. they are there for more reasons than to keep the tires out of the fenders. as for the gearing, you have never had a properly geared rig? i would assume you have an automatic because nobody in thier right mind would enjoy playing with 3 pedals and no torque. that tranny must get hot, and you put more stress on everything from the pinion yokes to the motor. its far from ideal and makes for a less reliable rig.

got one, but i'm gonna put on a larger one.
i've been using this setup for about 5 years or so.
i'm in central ontario, so not a lot of large hills here. now if i were in the mountains, it'd be a totally different story.

i won't waste my money regearing stock axles.

now back to the op. i'm sure it would be fine with uncut fenders.

I have 33's with 6.5 And it looks good and almost fully functional. you need to do a little trim work or you will chop your tires to **** on the trail, but if you dont wheel it 33's w/ 6.5 looks awesome!

FYI I buy my gears from justdifferentials.com and when I did mine, front and rear gear sets, install kits, and a new front carrier, with shipping was just under 700$ So its not too bad. Depending on if you or someone else is doing the install for labor. they are easy axles to gear.
