Default 2001 XJ with JK Flares

Personally, I think these flares are cooler than the bushwacker flat flares when done right. Here's my rig, just finished them this weekend. All I did was trim them down. I also have 2" backspacing on my wheels, so I dont recommend using these on a stock xj unless you're gonna trim the ***** outta them.

This would look good with 37"+ tires.

I agree, I do need some bigger rubber/lift. Right now im running stock suspension with 235/75R15's. I'm in the market for some 31's and a budget boost soon. Should make it look a bit better.

To attach them, I use a compass and traced along the body to make the cutouts on the bottom of each flare. And used small nuts and bolts on the front fenders. The JK flares already had nice thick tabs to screw into so it worked perfectly. (both front and rear fenders are trimmed) For the rear, I used self tapping sheet metal screws that were about 1/2" long. They went straight into the body since there was no way I could attach nuts. I wasn't really a fan of doing that, but oh well. The herculiner should prevent any rusting for now.

Looks clean. Will look better once you fill out the wheel wells but all jeeps look better with the wheel wells filled.
Good job!

leave it to me to revive an old thread but you wouldn't happen to have a side pic of your XJ when you had those on there would you?

Would you mind taking some closeups and a couple of how you mounted them? Looks awesome! Great work

Those look awesome! Are they the stock JK flares or aftermarket? Close-ups of the mounting would be nice too...
