Default 2.8 V6

I just picked up a 1985 4dr with the 2.8 V6 auto trans for $100, it runs but has the typical PO wiring mess, bad aftermarket fuel pump and blown head gaskets (I think). I have heard lots of bad things about this motor, is it even worth fixing or scrap the motor and build a different motor?

I was thinking the same, I wanna do a radical build but still street-able, this one had the worst body out of all my XJ's so I figure it can be the start of the build

Put a 75 wet shot of nitrous with no window switch, take it to the track, and blow that motor to the moon & back. Then replace it with the Inline 4.Hoe

The firewall is different so the 4.0 won't fit. The 2.hate v6 is a junk engine with hardly any aftermarket performance support.

I've heard that the firewall is different many times and from sevral sources, but I can not confirm if it is or not personally.

Swap in a 3.4L
http://www.lunghd.com/Tech_Articles/...Project_XJ.htm
The 2.8 is a reliable engine but very very weak, like 100HP weak.
I got one in an S15 Jimmy, it climbs hills slower than an 80,000 pounds semi.
