is there a ratio that is most common in 2.8 5 speed xj's?

the 5 speed would have the 4.10 and auto 3.07 im pretty sure

you got that backwards, just think the auto slips so it needs lower gearing, the manual is direct power so not as much is wasted

Hey guys, this is a 2.8L, not the 4.0L The most common ratio for the 2.5 and 2.8L was the 4.10 because they needed the deeper gears to pull the rig.

The most common ratio would be 4.10's for a 2.8L with a manual as 4.3L XJ stated.

i'm hopeing for 4.10's because they would be better for the time being, but i will be going to 4.56 or 4.88 when the budget allows.
