Just grinding the conduit will NOT make it safe for you to weld. You must clean the surface after grinding and even after that, you still shouldn't weld it without a clean air hood. Galvanized is nothing to mess with.

That the autoarc? Had one for a bit, decent welder for the money. Motor for the wire went out then brother was dumb and traded it away instead of warrantying it out

handler, i like it so far, i layed down a half decent bead with flux core wire

I like mine a lot. It can lay down some pretty clean flux core welds. I haven't used it with gas yet though so I really don't have much to compare to

ill run gas eventualy, but for now while im learning ill be using flux core

practiced with some scrap today what do yall think of these welds? keep in mind there were spots where i stopped to see how it looked and i also realize theyre not the straightest either lol

Not too bad, you just need to get the feel for the straightness, it's hard to see sometimes, especially when you're learning. Practice, practice, practice, LOL....I've attached a painted version of one of your pics, hope it helps you
