I have a WJ so the body of mine is different but I'm using 2x4. I think 6" is sticking it out too far for my jeep. I like where the 2x4 comes to on the body. Nice aggressive but clean look.

Pics on that wj? I like the 2x6 if your replacing your rockers because it'll stick out a little and give a little more side protection but the 2x4 is perfect for this kinda setup.

Pics to come. The way the WJ body rolls under, 2x6 just seems to be a lot of sliders sticking out. 2x6 looks great on other models. 4" on the WJ still gives a good 1-1 1/2" sticking out from under the body. Others may like it sticking out farther. Just my personal feelings on mine. I'll get pics when I can get out to the shop as my WJ is still being built.

Thanks guys. Yea my next set will be better but its the first thing i've ever fabbed for my jeep so that goes without saying. Haha. I just don't understand why some people have to bash everything posted in fab!? Just aggrivates me i guess.

people need to learn that if they dont have anything nice to say no wants to hear it. take your negative attitude and leave.

Hey I really wasnt trying to bash the fab work(if you grouping me with the negative comments). I was just asking if you had them sticking out further to use as a step. And after I read your post again I noticed they were welded to a plated frame so you should be fine. Sorry if I offended. Either way they're better than mine because you made yours and I bought mine.

those look good, i just mocked up one of mine lastnite and while they dont stick out that far. mine come out further than most (prolly have a writeup soon on it). after watching my buddy bash his doors, take out his mirrors in the first 15 minutes at the cliffs. i like the idea of some metal protecting my body panels, acts as a step so you can put your strap on the roof and access it easier and still protects against the rocks.

Thanks guys! No FishinXJ i was not grouping you with them. There is a BIG difference between your coment(what i consider constructive criticism) and bashing. I like my dual purpose sliders and i thought the step idea was pretty cool. I know they stick out farther than others but thats how i wanted them. Homemade!!!
