still think that the 4 doors look better but thats just IMO. i can still appreciate the fab skills in doing either one. i took and chopped my junk one last night and realy want to do it to mine. as for the H2 look a like i dont mind that because ill know my jeep can out do the H2 any day of the week.

for the 50/50 weight of the miata you sir are incorrect. with the mods and swaps it only adds about 200 pounds or less to the front and you can set the engine back some too. trust me on this ive researched it alot as wanting to do it to mine. but you just cant beat the power to wieght ratio. bring it on Z06s.

i do agree that a built 4bt would be just fine. would make for a better tow rig with the 6 id think. so anyone chopping theres? my wife said not just no but hell no lol. ill do it one day though just not ready yet. going to practice more on this junk one i have in the garage to see what im getting into.

richxj89 did you get any pics of the hinge mounts on the MJ tail gate? Or anyone that might know of some pics please post them? I can't wait to dig into this one... Check out my build for the photo shopped concept pic! I wanna chop mine (2 door), but still keep the rear wing window!!! Best of both worlds

haha yeah i was showing her pics of them last night and a few of the really well done ones she did say that was nice looking. so thats a start. i did get permission as long as i can figure a way out to put on a soft top or removable top on it to be able to take the dogs with up to where we are going. so i just might start this after the first of the year. just gotta get the sizes of a tj soft top and maybe fab that to work.

XJs are unibody, they have no traditional frame. It uses the body for structural integrity, and cutting up the rear portion of the top could potentially yeild poor results, ie doors no longer closing/opening because the truck has twisted itself.

Putting your chopped XJ in a situation where it has wheels off the ground puts it in a spot where it has the most potential to get tweeked. Obviously the user who posted pics of his chopped XJ was able to do the chop without having these issues.

I can't tell up front, but in the back they are run down to the body, just on the top of the cut line.
