Does anyone know of something that can be sprayed or attached to the roof to keep it from sweating if the headliner is removed? I pulled mine to put it in my DD (when it gets recovered), and dont care too much about putting my DD back in as Im going to do a lot of work mounting switches and lighting up there. Can I just spray adheasive and stick some cloth and have it stick? I spent ten minutes in it after taking it out to put the visors back in and it is obvious its going to start raining in there if I wheel itin the cold.
Id prefer not to have to mess with foil or shiny stuff.
Figured people mess with headliners with chops on this thread. Im sure this wont be an issue when I chop mine, but Im waiting til I roll once or twice as I have a four door and wont get as much useful space when I do it (compared to a two door. If I had a two door it would have been chopped right off the bat, not even a question).

I don't guess I understand your question? Are you refering to recovering the headliner? I used 3M Spray adhesive and it held up for about 3 years before it started sagging again. Tho, it started sagging again right after I took the doors off for good.
You have THAT much condensation on your roof? I've never had that issue.

I'm not sure why since I'm taking it all back out in a week or so to put 5-point harnesses in the back.
It's rather difficult to see in the crappy picture but you can see where the vertical bar comes up almost exactly where the factory mount was.
No, I'm not finished with my chop yet. Still have lots to do. I entend to cut the entire back off of it. Link the back and stretch it a couple inches, then reconstruct the back into a bit of a bobbed, dovetailed, comp cut look. Then bolt on the 37s.
Yes, the guy standing in front of my Jeep is like 7 foot tall.

It's really no different than anyone else's chop other than it has a full interior cage.
Maybe these will help knock some sense into you.

Looks like crap if ya ask me. I can't stand how fat the *** end of it looks like this. The bumper sticks out way too far but I'm not too concerned about it until I get around to starting the next project.
Next project will be to make the rear look something like this. (With 4 link)

Minus the incredibly inboard shocks.

Just do it now. When people ask why your roof is missing tell them it blew off while you were driving down the road.
That's what I tell people anyways.

I would like to omit the headliner completely if possible. I actually like the look of the metal, but it occured to me that it was going to condense. As I said, just putting the visors bafk in and it was feeling clammy. Of course its cold, and a little damp for a winter here (desert, usually). And I dont figure on too much of an issue in the summer, but if I try sno wheeling Ill need to run a defroster!
I have read of others using some sort of tar and foil panels for sound deadening (something thats expensive, but I cant remember the name) as well as alternatives. I imagine the same foil/foam stuff Ive seen put up in steel buildings to keep them from condensing would work too, but I dont want shiny foil up there, and Id also prefer not to have painted foil overhead. Im considering using spray on bedliner, but I dont know if this will work or if it would cause issues if I ended up having to do one of the other methods.
If nothing else works and its an issue, i can put the other headliner back in, but it is crushed over the drivers side and would block access to wires (plan to put a lot of switches in the console).
