I like the axle/ds storage idea. Mine are only zip tied to the rack I built. I think I'm going to make something like this. But add storage for the alternated and starter I also carry.

I have been debating on removing the tunnel under the rear seat since my xj is lifted and the drive shaft doesnt come close to it. This would free up lots of space where I could put extra parts.

I made this rack. It gives me two levels in the rear. All the heavy things that could hurt passengers in a rollover are under it. The rack is attached to the floor with hooks and ratchet straps so it could come out quick.

Schmaunty that is a really great idea, especially since 1. I dont look out that window and 2. my spare is blocking that window so I couldnt look out of it anyways. Do you have the build up on that? I would definitely be interested in doing this for my rig since we only have so much space to store items, plus its on the outside of the jeep and you dont have to open the back hatch to get what is needed. Really cool!!!
