That might get you 6 on either side, but center consoles don't move.

i just fold the back seat down or whatever and make a short queen bed back there. or a fat twin. it works. whenever i got alot of stuff back there i just throw it in the front seat or the passenger seat.

For a while i slept at work in my 86 XJ in a car tent in the back. i would throw everything on top of my truck(there was a barbed wire fence surrounding the back yard so i wasnt worried)

it wasnt too bad. I got more hours then anyone else cuz i was the first one on shift and the last to clock out. my boss never cared as long as i worked hard and kept it clean back there.

lol....

Guys, sorry if I'm coming off as being snobbish and judgmental. I'm really not. I think the mod is cool and I definitely respect the sleeping in it at work in the parking lot... that's hardcore and it worked. I pray I never find myself in the situation to need to because if I do, it will have meant that I lost my wife and kids in the process. But if I do, thank God for our XJ's which are there for us no matter what, right?

Not working now. The wife gets worse about no cash everyday it seems. sorta slept in the back seat a couple times lately, when I figured its better not to come home.
Oh well life's a b/tch and so is she.

Pushed forward with them inclined you would gain at least a couple inches. No?
Must be close to 6 ft.
Or be single and remove the passenger seat and remove the bottom seat so your allow full length lol that what I do!

That would definitely get you enough space.

The passenger seats is moved all the way up and Im 6ft tall i can lay down flat. having it level with the bottom of the hatch window adds a couple inches and its just about perfect.

I always figured that'd be a really nice way to make a decently sleep-able XJ. It'd get a lot of extra space too. Works perfect if you never plan on having a passenger.
