Default Exoskeleton for a 2 door

Decided since I'm going to keep the blue 2 door, I might as well put a full exo on it. I sketched out what I think will work. If you spot anything on it that may need revised, give me a heads up. This is the first of these I've built.

I can't tell from the picture, but is there a tube running from the A-pillar at the bottom of the windshield to the bottom of the rocker panel?

What size DOM tubing you looking to run? I would suggest 1.5-1.75" and at least .125 wall

Yes there is a tube coming down The A pillar. I was planning 1.75 DOM .125 tubing. I was looking at some other exos and that was what they used. Figured it would work good for this.

I think you have a pretty good plan, now just need to measure and price everything out.

173 feet if I did it correctly. I have to call the local steel supplier in the morning for price and availabilty of the tubing.

Would probably be better to triangulate the bracing to better distribute loading forces. I don't think the circled brace is going to help much if you went turtle.

the rear most correction would cover the gas door... or be DAMN close to doing so... other than that I'd agree with corrections

$863.00 for 200 foot of .125 1.75 DOM tubing. I think they're smoking crack!

that is a lot, but just a quick cruise around the net, and that price is looking good to me... a good $300+ less than what i could find

they have no crack, metal prices are up right now. thats how it is everywhere.

you should use .120 wall instead of the .125. that may be where your huge price is coming from. most build with .120 wall......its a way more common tube size.

also another idea would to be to use DOM only for your main hoops and supports.....then do all of your fillers and triangulation with HREW. good way to build a strong cage and save some duckets.
