Well I thought I was going to have to bid farewell after only being here for a short time. I was having so many problems with my XJ that I decided to sell it along with the other XJ that I had for parts to get money out of them while I still could. A lot of the problems were from me abusing it too much and not fixing things while they were easier. That and the floors were about gone in it from rust, I have very limited resources to fix such a large problem so they are gone.
The plan was to pool the money I got for both XJ's and keep adding to it until I found a Cleaner XJ or even a Grand Cherokee. I was keeping away from Wranglers because I thought the price for even an old old one would be too much for me.
I ended up finding a Wrangler for sale down this back country road sitting up on a hill. I couldn't even tell it was for sale but I drove up the drive and it did have a small piced of cardboard with For sale written on it.
Little bit about it: 4cyl 5sp that runs great, shifts ok(needs clutch) No Top, bent fender, cracked windshield, 4wd works great.
I got it for $1000 that was my first offer too! I probably could have got it for less! I consider it a steal even with the problems.
Anyway here she is:

For the price I let my beloved XJ go for they weren't getting the brand new 31" I had just put on it so we agreed that I keep them. I stuck them on the Wrangler and they look great. They are also mounted on backspaced wheels so the tires don't rub at all. I also got a basic cab cover top to protect the guages and what's left of the seats from the rain until I can get a better top

Well I havn't had it off road so I can't give any kind of reviews yet. It is great in the city, the 4 banger does not like the highway much but it will cruise at 65 nicely.
Plans, not neccessarily in this order are:
1st thing for sure it get it off road where it is supposed to be! Then...
CLUTCH!
Very mild lift like a 1" shackle lift for now
Fix the fender and hood
Complete the top and get upper doors
New shocks
Some off road and backup lights
Exhaust system
CB radio
Working FM radio
A Winch, it's hard to get people to go off roading with me these days so I may just have to head out on my own so I will need a good winch just in case
Figure out how the hell I am going to fit all the stuff I used to lug around in my XJ into this tiny thing LOL!!!! And outfit it for a trip of somesort
Get some kind of lining on the floor, maybe something for insulation as well?
I keep saying it but I want to do this jeep right and not cut corners so it will get me where I need to go
I should be getting a bed cover and windbreaker tomorrow so may have some more pics.
All I can think of for now, will keep updating as I go and share my knowledge of XJ's this is truely a great site.
Thanks
