Dave's Green 98 (XJ #6)
Time to actually BUILD another XJ, last real build was my Silver XJ back in spring of 2013.
As always, a run through of my Jeep history:
First ever Jeep, bought in late 2009, 88XJ:
Went though a couple different lift setups, and did a paint job...when I sold the 88 this is what it looked like:
Sold the 88 and bought this: 98 XJ:
Spent a few bucks on tires/wheels and a 4.5" RE SuperFlex. Looked like this when I traded it off:
Traded that black XJ for this and got rid of it fairly quick:
Sold the Yota, and got this (bought it cheap with front end damage) 2000 XJ:
After lots of blood, sweat, beer, and other miscellaneous necessities I ended with this:
Infamous picture:
Ended up thinking I wanted a wrangler, so traded the silver XJ for this 97 TJ:
Found out quick I didnt want a Wrangler for lack of room, so the TJ got sold, and I picked up this gem. 98 2 door:
When I brought it home:
Lowered it and went with some Mickey 33s:
Ended up selling the 2 door to fund my wedding in September of 2013. I went jeepless until late NOV 2013 when I decided to buy a 99 WJ:
Concluded it was going to be a bit too much work for me to get the WJ to stage 1 of my build plans...so started looking for anything that I could trade for. Picked up this 1991 YJ:
Wheeled the YJ one time, and ended with failure, eventually recovered from this though:
Traded the YJ EVEN for this 99 pearl blue 4 door, I had a total of 3100 dollars in this Jeep since I traded even.
Someone randomly offered me 5K cash, and that was enough for me to sell it..

The short Arms are just until I can afford the materials to build another 3 link..
Or may just go with the Rock Krawler kit..
Hopefully by Christmas

Ive made a decent bit buying, selling, and trading them around. lol
This last trade moved me from a 99 that I had 3100 in to 5k cash.
Spent 2500 on the Jeep, and a total of about 1500 on everything for the build including tires, coils, leafs, shocks, arms, and registration for the thing lol. So I pocked 1k on this deal.

Yeah, ive been on the hunt for a clean one thts not been molested. Id probably still have the silver 3 linked XJ had it not of had a fairly half assed 4wd swap.
This one is very clean, cold AC, bone stock (never owned one aside from my 88) that was stock...the guy I got it from only had it a month...and had planned on building it but bought a RZR instead. He got it from the original owner who claimed to have only used 4wd about 5 times.
I can pull the lever back with the touch of one finger, all the way back to 4 low..very smooth.
