I'm sure this has already been a thread created but honestly at this point what hasn't. Anyway just finally finished the engine/trans/tcase swap (build thread update coming soon) after 10 jeepless months! So I ordered some new headlights and I also want to throw in clear corners and blinkers but I can't find anywhere to buy them at a reasonable price. Plus most are for first gen. What I'm wondering is where did you get your clear corners from? (97-01). Links appreciated and hey why not make this a picture thread. Let's see those clear corner xjs 👍

Not only does federal law require you to run amber lights in your side markers, it's also just common courtesy. Amber lights are MUCH easier on the night vision of the people behind and beside you. White points of light in your field of view screw with your night vision and contribute to fatigue during night driving. This is why all rear- or side-facing lamps have to be red or amber as a general rule. These are the lights that are more likely to be in someone's vision for a longer period of time (for example, someone stuck behind you).
The forward parking lights are allowed to be white because they are normally more fleeting in the vision of oncoming traffic and are already overpowered by the headlamps anyway. Front turn signals have to be amber only to make them stand out against the white forward lighting.

In the US and Canada, FMVSS 108 and CMVSS 108 require front turn signals and side marker lamps to be amber. "Yellow" is not an acceptable color. Forward parking lights can actually be white or amber under federal regulations.

I'm not sure on Canada but I know it was an issue in the European market because side reflex lighting is actually illegal. Go figure.
