Default ZJ axle hop

can someone help me figure out why i get super bad axle hop in 2 inches of snow, ive had two sets of tires on it, some stock all terrains and some 30" mud/snow tires. I know that the fluid in the differentials is really bad, and i lifted it a couple months ago, i dont know if its doing the side to side hop or if its just up and down, but i dont feel like snapin an axle

how do you have side to side hop? if its axle hop its up and down and I would say check your shocks, they are probably shot

When you say your diff fluid is bad, does it have metal chunks in it? You may be missing a few teeth on the spider and side gears. Or the lift you installed changed the rear suspension geometry enough to cause problems.

ok, well i dont know if its the side to side hop i just heard that thats the one that will break an axle, and i hope the shocks arent broke because there brand new.

the diff fluid, i all i know is its black, and apperently needs replacin, and if the change in geometry from the lift caused this any idea on how i could fix it

Depending on how much lift and what method was used to lift the Jeep makes a difference of what to do to correct the problem.

it was a spring swap, all i did was sway bar links, new shocks, and moved the springs back

Maybe some longer rear arms would take care of the problem.

you never mentioned how high you lifted it, or when its happening, this might help...

sorry, i figured a "spring swap" would imply the 3.5" and it happens when i lose even a little bit of traction

so is it actually hopping? or just transfering power to the tire on the other side when one loses traction?? is that where you are talking about side to side "hop" in your words?

i dont actually know if its hopping, its a very terrible vibration that happens when i lose traction, i personaly cant "see" it so im not sure whats going on back there, it sounds like somethings about to break, and the "side to side axle hop" is when the left and rear tire jump opposite of eachother, sorry if i suck at explaining this

and i did check one of my shocks seems to be shot
