WJ specific question
I need some help with a stupid problem, but I don't seem to find my answer anywhere else. Where are the dome light door switches on a WJ? Are they inside the latches, because I can't find them anywhere.
Sometimes, and it's happening more and more often, the interior lights won't come on when I open the doors after sitting all night but pop on when I start it with the door open. They will continue to work properly until it sits overnight again. I know this is a minor thing, but it's driving me nuts trying to figure it out.

I think they're in the latches. The grease in the latches collect a lot of crud and starts to get hard with age and temperature. You might try to spray something like WD-40 into the latches and see if it frees them up.

Thanks, Busted! I will stop looking now. I had a problem last winter with the latch handles no returning in the cold and I shot them with a silicone grease aerosol which worked well. However, that stuff probably became a dirt magnet.
I guess I'll just pull all the door panels in the spring and clean & lubricate everything. I have a problem with the passenger's rear door anyhow. Why is it always this door? the window won't open and the electric lock doesn't work. The lock accuator works, but it won't move the slide, and you can't move the slide by hand either. The window motor works, but won't move the glass more than an inch, and it needs manual help to close up again.
The only concern is when I set the alarm, that door isn't locked, but the immobilizer should let the jeep be where I left it.
