will not start 2000 grand Cherokee

Default will not start 2000 grand Cherokee

I have a 2000 grand Cherokee and would not start one day all of the sudden was told was the starter I put new starter on still will not turn over I can put power to starter and will turn over but still will not start key turns on and dash lights and radio work but won't turn over replaced key switch has power out switch to starter still nothing

Probably the neutral safety switch.

I have the same issue with my 2000 WJ on occasion. Gauges and lights function fine but no crank or starter engagement. To remedy all I have to do is push shifter more forward in Park. As Dave mentioned, I believe this is due to the NSS, Neutral Safety Switch.

yes I've done all that with the neutral safety switch have power out of yellow wire on ignition switch but no power to green on starter

Power does not go from the key switch to the starter. It uses a relay. Check the relay socket with a DVM and check the relay for proper operation.
