Upper ball joint stud movement
So I have a 04 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited that I'm replacing the upper ball joints in and got moog ball joints when I press it in it gaps about a quarter of an inch and the stud in the ball joint moves up and down and side to side is that normal or should it only move up and down? Hellpppppp

Actually, I think it is spring loaded to adjust with the lower joint. The lower joint takes all the weight and as it wears, the upper one compensates. I just put Moog in my WJ.

1st Ive heard of it, and I've got a few miles on me, shouldn't be any up down or side-side.
Should be firm.
Is this somethin new fangled?
Perhaps google the Moog.
