Ok I just got a 95 WJ...cleanest underbody I have ever seen...anyway...the trans is acting funny too...not sure if the same...but it kinda slips into neutral during normal slow downs, but always kicks back in...shifts fine...should I do the fluid change maneuver? It has 260,000 miles and I have no idea how all the engine parts and framework is so free of rust..it is mind blowing...but also the auto shifter seems loose..like you drop it in drive and it has to be kind of manipulated into drive. Perhaps I just need to tighten a linkage on the transmission. I replaced the tps...did nothing....I did not do the the tcv adjustment yet. I wanna do the trans flush I love all the commentary on this thread... I have a spare aw4 in my xj with a shot motor but I dont think this trans is bad. I am excited to try the flush and mess with the tcv cable....awesome thread!

Sorry cruiser I am getting overwhelmed with Jeeps....so a 95 grand cherokee is a ZJ? this is too much for me man I only wanted one jeep.

 

Yes. 95 Grand is a ZJ and does not share the bulletproof auto trans with the XJ.
