So I bought a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.9l V8 from this kid. It’s been modded out the wazoo and works perfectly aside from some minor electrical issues.

I need to put a tailpipe on it to pass through emissions.

The tail pipe will work. Just did this on my dodge truck. local part store will have the coupler if you need one. The problem you may run into is it may not be factory. exhaust shops bend there own pipe. This was the problem I ran into on my truck. 1 adapter later and all good.

I dont recall if the WJs are 6cyl - V8 specific for their applications

 

So the tailpipe I have listed is for a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I have a 98. Will that make a difference. I did check rock auto. But they didn’t have the part

 

No you can't run the 99+ that is a different body style grand cherokee.

Your in the 94-98 ZJ body style which i suppose i missed earlier.

Is yours an I6 or V8?

yeah I don’t have what I need listed for 5.9L

 

Would this one work? Does it matter if it’s listed for either 5.2 or 5.9

because the tailpipes I’m seeing are for 5.2. Not sure if they work with 5.9L

I should say it’s on s 3inch lift which now I realize why they took it off. If I hit a nasty bump it’s going to crunch the pipe isn’t it :/
