Hello, my car is a Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0 model year 1994. My car destroys the camshaft position sensor, several already. I don't understand why? crankshaft and camshaft for the sensor in this year's model, the supply voltage is 8 volts, in the latest models the voltage is 5 volts. I've been told that the parts are still the same, I'm starting to suspect that they aren't, because the new sensor always breaks.. maybe from that 8v voltage? Or is there another reason known?
I have checked the wire, ground and they are fine.
The camshaft position signal comes to the wire after the engine shuts down with a 5 volt voltage, that's surprising..I don't think it should come, so is the PMC faulty?
Could a more experienced Jeep specialist advise me, please
