Swap of 98 tranny into 2002

Swap of 98 tranny into 2002
Have a Jeep 98 v8 awd. It got in an accident but tranny is still fine. Found a 2002 awd v8 with bad tranny in it and body in great condition. I would like to swap out the tranny in the 98 to the 2002. Is this plausable or are the years too far apart to be interchangable?
