transfer case help
So the 97 aw4 tranny i had in my 91 xj went out a while ago, so i bought a whole new jeep for parts. It is an 89 and i took the tranny and t case out of it. Well the t case happens to be a np242 and it is not working correctly, so i tried putting in my np231 t case and it so happens that the 231 is 23 spline and the 89 tranny is 21 spline. So my question is can i just buy a new 21 spline input shaft and put it in the 97 t case that came only with 23 spline? And do I have to buy other components to make the swap? Please help and thank you in advance!!!
