Question Removing power steering pump on a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with 5.2L engine

I am trying to replace the engine in a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4WD auto transmission with a 5.2 L V-8 engine. I am working on removing the power steering pump and cannot get the last bolt out. It is the one on the top back side of the pump that there doesn't seem to be any way to get any kind of a wrench on that will then turn. No way to get a socket or closed end wrench on it at all. I can get a straight box end wrench on it but then there is no room to turn it - not even a little. It looks like if you could get the reservoir off, you might be able to get to it. But I can't get the clips off with it mounted on the engine. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

As I replied to your other post there are holes on the pulley to take out the bolts.

For the two long bolts that will work, but this one does not line up with any holes in the pulley. I don't even see how they got it in there to start with. I am just replacing this engine as a hobby, so if I seem a little slow that may be why - because i have never done this before. Once again, any advice is appreciated.

Post a picture of your problem. I just did this and use the pulley holes.

I have attached 5 pictures of the bolt in question. It is just to the rear of the top bracket /clip that holds the power steering fluid reservoir to the PS pump. There are 4 bolts in all: 2 long ones which come out through the holes in the pulley and 2 short ones, one of which I have already gotten out. The pictures are of the one that I can't get a wrench or socket on. Thanks again.

Red face Got it!

I finally figured out what I did wrong. All three bolts are the same size. i had taken out a shorter bolt underneath that went to the PS pump bracket. It is only simple if you have done it before.
I have everything disconnected. Hopefully, the engine comes out without too much trouble. Tomorrow.

There are two pieces.

Bracket for pump
Pump itself

Pump is 3 bolts through the pulley
Bracket is 3 bolts on the block
