Can someone tell me if the rear window struts (NOT REAR DOOR STRUTS) are the same on a 2000 Grand Cherokee LE which I think is designated the WJ as it is on the later 2005 - 2010 model that I believe is designated the WK/WH please?

check amazon.com. They're better than most auto parts stores when it comes to proper fit. You don't have to buy them there, just use the part finder and get the part #. Then again you'd probably want to buy them online somewhere because auto parts stores will just sell you universal struts. I know on some ZJs the left and right are different. Might be the same setup for your car.

Check rockauto.com and look up your year and your source's year. The part numbers should tell you what you should know.

I dunno if they're the same but...

I just did all the struts on my 2001 WJ: hood, rear lift gate, and rear window. Purchased them from Amazon, no tax, no shipping — you can't beat that.

There is no left and right no matter what anybody says, and they all came with the correct fittings, fasteners, instructions, etc.

It really helps if you have someone to help hold hatch and rear glass up but the hood you can do on your own.

Sigh....... this is turning into a right, royal PITA.

I'm in Portugal and amazon.com won't deliver, amazon.co.uk don't stock the items, ebay.co.uk sellers only seem to sell post 2005 units which appear to be different, Jeep in Portugal AND Jeep in the US don't answer emails to tell me where they're dealers are located and my local car accessory shop tell me I have to order from a main dealer!

DOH!

This is getting sillier by the minute.

I've just managed to order 2 tailgate struts from Amazon.com but they won't deliver the smaller/lighter rear window struts!

For some reason I'm having trouble getting the website to load properly here - Maybe that's because I'm in Portugal but I think I've solved the problem now.

I'm going to order from Amazon.com as opposed to .co.uk and have them delivered to a buddy in the States and then he's going to post them onto me here and I'll pay him the postage via paypal.

It'll probably also cost me import taxes and 25% VAT but it's not the end of the world.

I've been trying to load the site site it was recommended but for some reason I'm having trouble with it here.

I'll try again today and hope I get more luck this time.

FWIW, According to the ebay & amazon parts checkers they are different.
