Default Popping any grinding noise in front end

I have a 99 grand cherokee limited 4x4 with quadradrive that I just got. The front end has issues and I can't figure out what is wrong. It felt like to front brakes were dragging and after reading a lot of post about this being a common problem i replaced both front calipers. Now it rolls better but makes a grinding sound when I drive it in forward and it also feels like it's dragging again. In reverse it make a popping sound and almost stops the jeep.

What could this be?

Does it do it more on turns? sounds like your driveline is binding.

Lift your front end, with the vehicle in park/ transfer in 2HI and rotate the front tires, then put the transfer into 4 and turn the front tires, this will show you if the binding is in your differential or driveline

Just took it to a shop and the the front diff is shot! How can I fix it without fixing it?. Don't want to spend $600 to put in a used diff.

What if I take the gears out of the diff and take off the front driveshaft?

That was my deleted post. I think it will damage your transfer case.
