Default Oil pan

I just bought a jeep about 2 weeks ago. And I was looking at the oil pan and its all rusted. Its a 2004 jeep Grand Cherokee. My question is would it better in the long run to either grind off the rust and put a coating on it, or buy a new oil pan.
