Default oil pressure problems

I was driving my 96 today and the oil pressure was low at idle and when I accelerated it picked up then after driving for about 10 mins it stayed low. slight ticking coming from my engine. I had changed the oil today. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

You need to verify the pressure w/ a mechanical gauge. Go from there.

If you have access to another vehicle you may want to drive it in the meantime.

I was originally going to ask the same question but didn't want to overwhelm him 'til he knew pressure reading.

Whack the oil sender with the filter wrench?

If you're pointing out that he may have damaged the sender while changing the filter and that may be why he has no pressure, yes, I did consider that possibility.

Hopefully he comes back to let us know the answers...

Mine was lying to me a couple of weeks ago. It was suddenly scary low. But the engine didn't act like it. I bought a Bosch mechanical gauge for 17 bucks from Autozone, and found I had 60 pounds at 2100, 40 at idle.

The guage went back to a more normal reading after I reinstalled the same sensor. Go figure.
