Ignition barrel not turning
Hi i have a 2006 wk grand cherokee, 3.0 diesel and last night when i tried to take the key out, it wouldn't let me. I tried again in the morning and it was a real struggle, the key wont turn and it gets stuck before the first click, its only 2 years old when i had the recall done. Do i have to buy a new barrel or is there somthing i can try. Thanks

It sounds like a problem with the transmission shifter interlock cable not being adjusted correctly.

I assume you're pushing in on the key when removing it? I think that's what you have to do to turn the key after the recall. The dealer should've affixed a sticker next to the ignition cylinder telling you how to remove the key.
If that's not the issue, then like Dave said, it's most likely the shifter interlock cable that prevents the key from being removed, or the vehicle from being started, unless the transmission is in Park.
