This is how i did mine.

 

run hot and ground straight to battery with an inline fuse. get a steel magnetic mount, and put it top, center of roof, then take it to a shop and have the standing wave set on the antenna. this will provide the most effective cb.

 

first off if you go directly to a battery you will need a noise filter or it will whine when you get on the gas your best bet is to go through the fuse box.or cig lighter.. #2 when you set up a radio you need to set the SWR's on the antenna....... or you will blow the finals out of your cb..... You loose power and recieve when running one without doing this,NOT GOOD FOR RADIO AT ALL. Make sure everything is properly grounded!!!!!!! Your best bet is to run a wilson LIL WIL mag mount antenna easy to tune and its a decent antenna. about $35 at any truck stop. they should have a swr meter there too for around $20 if not Radio sack has them.. Your also going to need a small piece of coax for a jumper to check swr's $5. I work on cb's and ham radios everyday. You wouldnt believe how much money i make cause people dont properly install these things.
I run over 3000 watts with my CB in this cherokee. so take my advice i know what I'm talking about. When i key up and put the hammer down everyone listens!!
