ok my 318 is starting to get really tired with almost 250 thousand miles on the clock. i already blew one auto transmission and 249 transfercase and it was a PITA to replace not to mention expensive and hard to find . has anyone ever put a chevy 350 in a grand cherokee or will i be the first? my plans are to put a chevy 350 with a turbo400 and a 203/205 doubler and a either a ford 8.8 or 9 inch in the rear to replace the d35.

 

The 205 is a right hand tcase if I remember correctly. Your diff is on the left.

Also, the 205 is physically bigger than your 249. You might end up hacking up the floor to get it done even if you invert it.
