Burning gas to fast while idling and driving I'm not sure if this is the right spot to put this in cuz I'm new here but I got a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4 x 4 coming home for my son's house the other day and truck just burn through the half a tank of gas in like 40 milesI also watched miles left go down while I'm sitting here idling. Do you have any ideas what could be causing this

I'd say you have a pretty good leak somewhere; check around fuel pump at the tank
hi new to The Forum so I'm going to give it a shot... My transfer case (I believe is a 249) won't go into gear it sounds like a semi truck trying to shift gears, pulled transfer case out checked cables and linkages... where do I go next??

I'm afraid it's time to take it apart and investigate or replace it. Most people swap to the 242 or 231 because the 249 is quite expensive to fix. As far as getting either of the other ones to fit requires making sure the input shaft matches your transmission spline count or swapping the input shaft from your old one into the new one. THEN getting a shifter gate so you'll know what gear you're in.
I found this under the spare tire but can't figure out where it goes or what it does. An internet search says it's a spare tire bracket. Could someone post a picture of where it's located in their rig? It looks like it's riveted in judging by the broken rivet head I pulled out of one of the holes.
Could you post another picture? Is it original factory? Every Mopar website shows a round clip being used but it hard to tell what shape it is from the fuzzy picture.
Here is another photo, from a video on you tube of installing a 2004 bumper. It is square on the end, slides into the bumper. then the expanding end goes into the vehicle body...
Thought I'd give this a shot because this question is simple enough that I don't see the reason in starting a new thread and it may have already been covered, if that is the case if someone wold please guide me to where I can get some more information it'd be appreciated.
I have a very long trip ahead of me, long enough that the old seat with the frame sticking out of the bolsters and the torn seams on my WJ needs to go. It currently has a 6 way power drivers seat and a manual passenger seat. I was curios if I found a good example of a 10 way drivers seat from a donor WJ would it be a plug and play swap, and how hard is it to get the passenger 10 way going seeing as it wasn't prewired. would it be worth getting the heated seat switches from the donor as well? is it true that it was pre weird for heated on the drivers side and the plug is behind the center dash? and again if I pursue the heated seats how hard would it be to get the passenger going?

I'm having no luck finding them so far. Do you have a pick-a-part or you-pull-it yard nearby? Might be your best bet if you do. I'm hitting ours this week and I know there's a 2004 because I grabbed parts off of it last week. I'll look for you.
I know what it is !!! It's what the spare tire cover hooks under, near the rear seat back.
