It does, but not until it goes into closed loop mode where the 02 sensors reach temp or about 10 minutes. Believe it or not, but I think the "coolant sensor bad" includes the low level float in the reservoir.

I found d-ring mounts for the WJ that bolt directly to where factory tow hooks mount, but without the brackets that the stock hooks use. These bolt directly to underside of 'frame-rail', each with five 5/8" bolts. Front bumper needs to be removed to install. Made by Goliath 4x4, a forum member here.

I like to watch my vehicles on my OBD2 scanner and even in winter it's usually only a couple minutes before my XJ or ZJ go closed loop. I think the main factor is when the upstream O2's are up to temp which between the heater and the exhaust is pretty quick, even in winter. I've seen it switch to closed loop and my coolant temp was only 70F.

Pretty sure you're right about the coolant sensor bad message as well.

Here's another technical Q if anyone's got a moment.

My blower motor for defrost stopped working a few days/weeks ago on my '96 ZJ 5.2L. What's all in this harness? I should have a FSM if anyone knows about what page or what the connector is called.

I'm wondering if any of the nearby wires were affected.

Edit: Also there is nothing in the row with the melted wire, just blanks. I fixed the melted wire and it's so nice to have heat when it's 15* with 20+mph winds...lol

Default 4wd?

I found a 2001 Grand Cherokee for sale at a good price. The seller claims the jeep is a 4x4 Quadra Drive. He sent me some pics and it has no 4wd shifter. I had a 2012 GC Laredo that was 4wd but had no shift lever. Before I drive an hour to check the jeep out I want to know for sure that this jeep model was available in 4wd with no shift lever. I'm not convinced but I figured I would ask the experts.

every one I've seen that has Quadra Drive also stated it on the shift lever surround as the Quadra Trac and Select-Trac do, as well as on the hatch at the bottom left

You're very welcome. I would tell him to send photos of the front axle to see for yourself if it's got a diff. Also be sure to save the hassle and be sure he gets some of the jeeps body in the photo to ensure its the same jeep. I've had 8 WJ grands and the ONLY ones I've seen without it is the 2wd...which I won't buy lol

I Can't tell from the pic and there is no 4x4 sticker on the back. My gut is telling me that the guy doesn't know what he's talking about. It may be a good idea for me to just pass on it.

****... yeah I'd see if he can take a fresh pic of the front of the jeep and be sure to get the front axle into it.

I would venture to say it's a 2wd model. Which was sold far more often in southern States than northern States. But may be wrong. Could always call your local Chrysler dealer and simply ask if it was a possible option to have that configuration... personally I doubt it tho.

The Quadra Trac 1 has 4x4 Hi only so there's no transfer case selector. But according to the article above, it was introduced in 2004. Could maybe have been swapped in.... though I'm not sure why someone would swap in such a ****ty transfer case. Or the guy could have an '04 and not know it... but based on the pics, that grille doesn't look like an '04 WJ.
