I'm replacing my oil pressure sensor (96 xj), but I've noticed the connector plug is damaged, the single-wire one. I can find the sensor anywhere, but nobody seems to carry the plug... any source suggestions? I have found some places tha carry a thing they are calling a connector for this but it can't be, it has two wires....

96 ZJ 5.2, The key is stuck in the ignition(still functioning properly), I have another entire functioning ZJ to pull parts from, what would be the easiest way to fix it. Should I try to swap the whole column? Or should I just get new parts as they're probably worn close to breaking on the other as well? Which part is generally broken, just the ignition switch or do I need more than that if I get new?

I broke the key off in my 87 Chevy truck and a locksmith charged me $60 for a brand new tumbler and had it installed in 20 minutes. Yours isn't a chip key so it should be pretty cheap. You just need the tumbler lock, not a whole new switch. The only thing was the door still needed the old key. That was okay because it was frozen up anyway. I put a hidden toggle switch under the dash to eliminate the starter circuit for security.

Any one ever have hard starting issues due to battery terminal corrosion issues? 01 WJ 4.7, auto. I have had hard starting issues for a long time, and today I got stranded in a parking lot. Got jumped and limped it back to the office, cleaned the terminals, and have not had a problem since...just curious if anyone else has had something similiar happen.

Im no stranger to having the gradual issue of hard starting with terminal corrosion, but this was it was fine and happy, then 20 minutes later I had 0, nothing, not ever the door lights came on. Never had something so far flip flopped in my life. Been happy since. It starts better at -35 than it does 25 above....

The main problem with jeeps is the soft lead battery clamps they put on at the factory. After a while, they stretch and don't clamp the terminals the way they should. Especially the pos (+) clamp because the post is smaller in diameter. I used those cheap tin-plated bolt-on ones and they've been good for 50K miles. The main source of corrosion on battery posts is acid vapors leaking up the posts themselves. Some people hammer the clamps on, and that breaks the seal around the post.

[I]The sickness continues...Wj number five. Have some issues and questions. First...having a issue with tail lights/ brake lights. Issue being, when the headlights are on, i have all brakes lights dimly lit...brakes lights wont come on when the head lights are.on...work when they're off though. Ground?? <br/> Second issue and this is a big one but one i feel i can tackle, right rear upper control arm- A-arm mount broke off... Not a great thing at all but....i bought the jeep as it is, lift kit...4.0 stroked to a 4.6, 50 thousand miles ago, as well as a rebuilt trans at the same time. Final picture in the bundle I took, the rest are from the guy that built it. I bought it for $650 , not off the guy that built it but the guy he sold it to years ago. Have gotten ahold of the builder though so I know it's legit got that many miles

I do not know this for an empirical fact - but I would say that any engine the vehicle was available with originally - would fit in there now. Motor mounts, maybe the transmission, and some other bits and bobs might have to be changed - but the engines would swap in I would think.

Well; the 4.7 is a Chrysler engine - so I called my friend who is a lifelong Chrysler mechanic. He started off saying that the 4.7 is a very long running engine with reasonable care. What happened to yours?

You can look at the engine computer to check: if it has 4 plugs it's a later 4.7 with a 32 tone ring. But if it has 3 plugs then you have a separate
Trans computer and it's a 16 tone ring.
16 and you would have to 2003 and older. 32 and you would have to go 2003 or newer.
It seems like it would be a fairly common question. Have you poked around on-line (other than here <g>) to see if there is a definitive published list? Like a salvage-yard engine compatibility reference or something?

You can look at the engine computer to check: if it has 4 plugs it's a later 4.7 with a 32 tone ring. But if it has 3 plugs then you have a separate
Trans computer and it's a 16 tone ring.
16 and you would have to 2003 and older. 32 and you would have to go 2003 or newer.
It seems like it would be a fairly common question. Have you poked around on-line (other than here <g>) to see if there is a definitive published list? Like a salvage-yard engine compatibility reference or something?
