Default gas tank help

Just yesterday my jeep became difficult to fill. The gas pump clicks off at the handle with each pull.

I imagine i have a clog of sorts.

Can anyone offer some insight as to what i can do to start checking into the problem?

It is in the way the pump sensitivity is set for the automatic shut off in the fill nozzle. Buy gas at a different place, or quit trying to go full throttle on the gas. I have an xj & xk and they both do that at certain gas station pumps. I can move from one pump to another at the same gas station and clear it up.

There is one other thing to check. IDK which model you have, but on most models, there is a shield over the tank and straps that hold the tank to the body. If those straps break, the tank will drop down to sit on the shield stretching and possibly pinching the fuel hoses, maybe even the filler pipe. Check that out. Also the vent hoses that go to the filler neck. You are aware there is a roll-over valve in the filler pipe that must be pushed open by the nozzle, right?

The pump is all the way in and shuts off as if it were full. Trying to do this slowly doesnt even work.
I have had this jeep for 3 years... this is not an issue of gas station. Not to mention i usually fill up at the same place.
im going to check for pinching and anything broken.
Are the vent lines something i can remove and possibly clean myself?

I don't think this is a cleaning situation because it apparently happened instantaneously, so I'm figuring a pinch. Air has to get out as you're filling it and there isn't much room for that around the nozzle and roll-over valve so it must exit thru the vent system. I've heard of a vent hose coming off and after the jeep sits for a long time, mud wasps building nests in the hose. Again, I don't think this is your problem because you've been driving it regularly.

With my WJ, I run the nozzle wide open, but after pulling the nozzle out of the filler, I can hear air hissing thru the valve that was entrained in the fuel because of aeration (splashing).

A clogged charcoal canister can cause that problem. Its part of the evp system and vents the gas tank with it clogged you have no vent which makes adding gas to the tank hard.
