Question Electrical Connector R Front Door

I apologize for the gross breach of forum etiquette (Not reading for hours to see if this is already "in the forum").

Looking for a faster answer. Need to exchange doors on my '04 Grand Cherokee SE this afternoon to put it back on the road (got t-boned on pass side). Got a door from salvage this morning. Trying to preserve the wiring.

Is there some sort of disengage trick I'm missing to unplug this connector from the door? Rear was a piece of cake, but the front door is another story.

Help.

Thanks,
sdw

Should be a large connector behind the kick panel.

Conquered that - without even breaking the connector . All buttoned up, but.....

Haven't replaced the Front R fender just yet. Hoping the less than perfect mating between a straight door and bent fender is the culprit for my next nuisance.

Computer recognizes the Pass Front door as open, even though it is closed and locked. Haven't had time to align the door yet and ran out of daylight before finding the root cause.

Back to driveable, with working electrical on that side. Interior lights off will keep from killing the battery for now.

I don't see an obvious switch to be made.

The switch may be built into the latch assembly.

The switch is DEFINITELY in the latch mechanism. It's built into the latch but can be defeated by disconnecting it. OR completing the circuit with a jumper on the connector. I don't remember which. I just went thru this on my rear doors that wouldn't latch. The switch detects if the latch plate is latched or not, so if it's latched, the switch is bad.

Thanks for the detailed reply Dave1123. I still have the busted door, that I know still made the switch even after the accident. Maybe some adjustment on the replacement will allow the switch to be made. The fit is a bit off right yet.

What I did to test the switch was close the latch with a screwdriver shaft with the door open. The VOIC should show it closed if the switch is good.

Default Switch works

Tested the switch per Dave 1123's suggestion (and method).
Switch works fine.

With this information in hand, I'm fully inclined to accept that the this will be "corrected" once I get some time to adjust this door to the vehicle properly.

Thanks for the help guys. I'm occasionally active in the Miata forums, but new to the Jeep forum. It's great to get good advice from those with more knowledge and experience.

Since I don't get the reference, I say no.
I've had this '04 Grand Cherokee SE since 2007. Had been a DD for me, then the wife. About time to start putting some money into it and the it got mildly t-boned. We will get her something newer for a DD, which means I get my Cherokee back and can start pointing it to its more fun capabilities.
So, I'll be checking in from some help and advice from time to time.

Look up "haggard garage" on the YouTube, they're Miata enthusiasts.
