Default Durango heads on an 05 3.7 GC

Picked up this nice project today 2005 gc all wheel drive transmission and transfer case were rebuilt a few months ago then the woman ran it hot blew the head gasket and prob warped and or cracked one or both the heads. My question is i see where durangos have the the same heads my local pull a part yard is full of them is there some place to reference what donor cars would be suitable for a set of replacement heads ?

First of all Durangos never had the 3.7 V6. 2005 was the first year for the 3.7 in the jeeps. The 3.7 looks the same as the 4.7 but is less 2 cylinders. Are you sure you have the 3.7?

Okay, my bad! I just checked and the 3.7 WAS used in the Durango from 2004 to 2009.

As my dad used to say, "If you're going to stick your foot in your mouth, be sure to take your boot off first!"

some yards are able to cross reference certain parts. i would guess that the heads are the same, but i could be wrong.

Yes, I would think the heads are the same, however the valve timing (camshafts) may be different, but I doubt it.
