Smile Dim headlights...help!

First off im a newbie to the forum so Hello all from Apple Valley CA . I just purchased a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 3 days ago, and tonight I noticed the headlights are VERY dim. I have to use high beams at all times. The high beams although are nice and bright unlike my low beams. Now I already looked into getting brighter headlight bulbs, but i don't want to go spend 60+ bucks on headlights when the problem may be a fuse or something electrical. All the other lights inside and out are fine other then low beams and cluster looks a little dimmer compared to what I'm used to. It's really important for me to have bright lights considering I'm a field herper and most snakes are out at night! Any suggestions or advice is greatly appreciated. The low beams are both equally dim, it doesn't strike me as them just being worn out.

Check the grounds on the headlights. It's possible there is a bad connection on the low beam circuit.

Welcome to CF! It was nice that you posted your vehicle model and year, as well as your location. This info is important for proper diagnosis. I once was posting with a guy about a cold starting problem. Come to find out HIS cold start was at 70* in Hawaii while I was freezing my tookus off at -15*.

Does this work for ZJs too? I already bought one but could figure out where one of the connections went.

There might not be anything wrong with them, the factory low beams are just garbage. Check out a h4 headlight conversion if you find yourself wanting more light. And also, don't buy any of those super expensive bulbs, they're really not worth it.

On your '03 WJ you already have relays in the headlight circuit. Mine has 4 relays, 2 for high beam and 2 for low beam. I still think if your lows are browning out, you have a ground problem.
