What vehicle are you talking about? Obviously, it's not the 2001 Cherokee.

I would think it wouldn't matter if it was from a right hand drive model or not, but I've been wrong before. The diff is centered in the rear, so should be okay. Just make sure it's the same ratio as your front.

As long as it comes from a 96-98 with the v8, it will have the same ratio (3.73) and will bolt right in. The 5.9 came with limited slip, some 5.2s might not have it, but thats no big deal because the factory ZJ limited slip kinda sucks anyway

PLEASE, for your own sake, make sure the yoke was tensioned properly and not too tight. It's EXTREMELY CRITICAL not to preload the pinion bearings too much. I had a rear axle EXPLODE after a supposedly good mechanic replaced the pinion seal. I can't stress this enough! Axle pinion bearings and gears should only be worked on by people who know exactly what they are doing.

I agree, I see this all the time and other shops are my number 1 customers when it comes to over tightened pinion bearings. For some dumb reason the guides say to torque the pinion nut to 260 ftlbs. That is what it takes to start crushing the sleeve, you still need to set the amount of inch lbs of drag on the bearings, it is not a set amount of foot lbs.
