Cv boot HELP
Since you've gotta pull them anyway, why not save a couple bucks? Not like its any more or less work. Just less money out of pocket.

If the boot is open you are supposed to disassemble the joint, inspect all components for damage, reassemble, and repack with grease. a good way to pack the joint is to find a broom handle that will fit in the center and push it down to force the grease sideways into all areas of the joint. Time consuming, but not hard. If you dont feel comfortable doing this, then replace the axle shaft. not too expensive and much quicker

In answer to your ? First you have to loosen the axle nut in the center of your wheel, then jack up jeep ,remove your tire and wheel. Next remove your brake caliper and hang it up out of the way. Remove brake rotor then find a 13mm 12point socket and remove the 3 bolts that hold the wheel bearing assembly on. Then remove the bearing assembly, I use a real sharp chiesel and pound it between the hub and backing plate until the bearing comes out , you then can pull out your axle. Be very careful when puting the axle back in so that you dont ruin the inner seal.
