Hey guys, I have a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee and I just replaced the front drive line. When I got the jeep it didn't have a front driveshaft so I bought one for it. I was thinking the transfer case was going to be bad because they took out the front drive line but it seems to be fine. When I test drove it there was a loud click in the front left of my vehicle closer to the front left wheel but I can't tell. It was really loud around 25 to 30 miles per hour. I can't figure out what it is. Would really appreciate it if I could get some answers. Thank you for reading. Also this just doesn't happen when turning, its all the time.

Does the sound disappear when you hit the brakes? How do the axle u-joints look? Was the sound there before you added the driveshaft?

CJ joint perhaps? Also the front u joints sound suspicious also there are 3 in the front and the first one from the engine is usually the culprit.

The U-Joints look fine. When I accelerate it clicks and it clicks faster when I am at higher speeds. When I am accelerating and I let off the gas it stops for a split second, then it continues. It's almost like it happens when there is pressure on the front drive line. I'm thinking it might be a bad carrier bearing in the front left diff. I just wish there was a way I could figure out if it was that for sure, before I start digging in the differential.

A bad carrier bearing will cause a whine, not a clicking sound. I'd suspect a bad axle u-joint on the left wheel. Some front axles are CV joints at the wheels.

Grab the u joints with your hand and give it a real good shake down in all directions.
