Clicking Solenoid Behind the steering cowl?

Default Clicking Solenoid Behind the steering cowl?

Had 2 grand cherokees now and both have had a clicking solenoid behind the steering wheel

Sort of like a indicator flicking noise every 15 seconds of so

Anyone ever had this??

I've heard someone else mention this before and if I recall, I believe they chalked it up to something in the ABS?
Not sure if it's accurate or true(?)

Okay, there is a canister purge solenoid that cycles on a cold start to clear all the trapped fuel vapor in the carbon canister. On mine, it clicks on and off about every 2 seconds or so. It took me a long time to track it down.

IDK if this is your noise or not.

How do i cure it?

Sometimes if i bang the steering colum cowl it goes for a while

You don't. It's a built in function.
