Cherokee dying repeatedly
I own a 97' Grand Cherokee that repeatedly dies while I'm driving. When I try to restart it the engine turns over but doesn't start But, after letting it sit and cool down it starts again????? I just recently had all the plugs and wires changed along with the distributor cap. Also had the computer replaced. I'm stumpped????

I just had this fixed, mechanic called it a starter sensor or something. It would get hot and just cut off while driving. Let is sit for a while and it would run, then cut off again. Cost me about 150 bucks labor and material.

You can have the computer scanned for codes to confirm it. Even though I had no check eng light on, it still came up with the cps error. Any shop with a scanner can check the cpu for codes.

Loose connection? Engine dies when I hit bumps
This thread sounds very similar to my issue. My Jeep will run perfectly well unless you hit a bump in the road which will cause the engine to drop RPM and cut off. Electrical stays on, just the engine quits.
When I restart it usually takes a few cranks before it will run again. Once it does, everything runs great... of course until you hit the next set of bumps.
If I keep the accelerator down when the RPM's start dropping, I can usually avoid a cut off. Could this be a faulty TPS?
I've had a number of suggestions of this being a crack in the Coil pack, a roll over sensor malfunction or a faulty fuel pump.
I'd appreciate any ideas.....

2004 cherokee 6cyl. Engine quits
4.0l 6 cyl 2004 grand cherokee 4wd. starts and runs fine then at any given day it will quit (shut off). Tach goes to zero....radio a/c work but engine just shuts off. This also has haapened when slowing down to pull into parking spot on the side of the street. I shift to neutral and then turn the key to start then everything is fine. It might happen 3 times in a day but then not again for a week or so. No warning of any kind.
Not sure where to start first. I have owned for about a month; only 59,000 miles.
Any one have a place for me start??????
Thanks Mike
