check engine light wont turn off...
The check engine light recently came on and I checked the code. Told me to change out the O2 sensor, so I did. Check engine light is still on. Checked the code and nothing, just the 12 for beginning and 55 for end. I'm confused! I need to get her regd in Calif by December. Not sure what to do now...

What engine/year?
Clear the code with a code reader or disconnect the negative battery terminal. Realize though you'll have to go through a full drive cycle before you'll pass inspection. At least that is how it works in nj.

I was going to say....for quite a while we didn't have that. Now we do again, IF people take the time to fill it out! It's a Grand Cherokee though. ZJ.
Touch the 2 cables together to discharge the capacitors in the PCM, wiping out the memory in it. Overnight should do it anyway.

Not all of it. We used to be able to post t/case and tires, etc, but now it's just year, model, and engine. I wish guys would post location because it helps to know what environment it's operating in. I once tried to help a jeeper with a cold starting problem. It finally came out he was in Oahu while I was freezing my nuts off here in Syracuse at -15*. His idea of a cold start was 67*! He had to warm the PCM with a hairdryer to get it started.

I get so frustrated some times trying to beg info out of posters, I sometimes turn the computer off and go to bed! Not really, but sometimes I'm tempted.
