A/C Evaporator Core repair
Hello, ol"blue, if you have a moment, I have a 99 XJ sport and the low side is freezing up after running the ac for a bit, and sometimes there is condensation on the carpet. I am going to replace the low pressure cycle switch, but was looking for a way to clean the evap fins. I just do not know how to access/ and what to use.
Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

I'll send you a PM.
New evap and heater coil installed,
Added a couple of pics showing my special challenges.
First and second are the airbox tough nut on firewall behind engine block. The plastic pipe support bracket sure made removal harder. Had to rig a jig on a deep socket to assist.
Third and fourth are the console support bracket, which was broken before I began this job. Dealer wanted $133.48 for a new bracket, found one a local junk yard for $5. Had to pull it myself. No problem, vice paying well over a C note for new.
All in all, I'd do this job again. Don't think success would have been likely without yours and CF's assistance. Your manuals, the pics, and commentaries on this site are truly treasures for DIY XJ'ers.
That said, I don't recommend this job unless DIY'ers have focus, capability of applying due diligence, time, and backup transportation while this job is in progress. Took this newbie a full two days to complete.
Tks again/high fives, and happy trails to Ol"Blue/CF, hobiecat

Hey Ol"blue,
Wow seems like everyone is having this issue.
I just replaced my a/c Compressor with clutch, a/c accumulator and orifice tube, and I need to replace the evaporator coil. I have a 1998 Grand Cherokee. If you can help it would be greatly appreciated!
